Beginnings of the Welding School
Since 2007 to date the MONTAVAR BG plant has been running a welding school. It has been created on the basis of the school of Montavar-Metalna-Nova in Maribor managed by Mr Anton Vavpotič. Thus, the school has the following basic units: cabins/screens, schoolroom, the area for preparation of samples for disposal of materials and tools, etc.
Instructors are experienced welders.
Company’s management has been always committed to make this school work with full capacity. At the very beginning creation of quality welders was recognized as a necessary prerequisite for quality welding production.
Activities from 2008 until 2012
The Welding School has been working with variable intensity since its foundation, and has been primarily used for:
- certification of welders,
- testing-probation of candidate welders for engagement into production
- advance training, i.e. training of experienced welders
- creation of technology qualification,
- more complicated (pilot) welding
- testing of new materials and products
- training of beginners
When Mr. Vavpotič retired, the school in Maribor practically stopped working. Consequently, a role of the Belgrade school has become more significant since it is the only one in the Montavar system, and provides services to the whole system- BG, Maribor, Banja Luka, Nikšić,etc.
